Join us for an enlightening event focused on the exciting world of quantum, artificial intelligence and sustainability. As quantum evolves and artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in global systems, their combined potential is opening new pathways for tackling some of the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges. This event is designed for students, professionals, researchers, innovators, decision-makers and enthusiasts who are eager to discuss how these emerging tools can shape a more sustainable world.
This event is the second one of the Quantum breakfast series organised by the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ and the AI Factory. This particular breakfast will also be embedded within the focused on HPC and emerging trends, including AI and Quantum Computing for the global HPC community.
The event will be moderated by Lisa Burke and will take place on Belval Campus, Maison des Arts et des Etudiants.

The Missing Pillar: Quantum, AI, and the future cost of compute
As AI accelerates the demand for high-performance computing, the sustainability of future compute infrastructures becomes inseparable from a deeper question: what kinds of problems are we trying to solve, and what kinds of machines do they require? This talk will start from computational complexity to frame the limits of classical scaling, before introducing quantum approaches as a potential new pillar of the HPC continuum. It will discuss why practical quantum advantage depends not only on algorithms and hardware, but also on quantum error correction, system integration, and hybrid workflows. The talk will then broaden the view toward unconventional computing paradigms and the dual relationship between quantum computing and AI.
