Dr. Laure Pauly, a neuroscientist and science communicator, is the project officer for the GetBrainHealthy project at the Department of Social Sciences, 91¶ÌÊÓƵ.

She completed her PhD at the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ in the group of Prof. Dr. Rejko Krüger, co-supervised by Prof. Dr. Anja Leist (UL; LIH; LCSB; CHL). Her research covered cognition in Parkinson’s disease and prodromal Parkinson’s disease, and extended to several dimensions of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as vaccine hesitancy, resilience and unmet patient needs. In her current role, she is interested in understanding brain health beliefs and public health communication in relation to brain health education.

Laure has been involved in promoting science to the lay public in 10+ dedicated Science for Society events between 2021 and 2025 (Science Festival, Researcher’s Days, Researchers-back-to-school, …) She is also involved in the organisation of science communication events such as the EURON PhD Conference (2024; European Graduate School of Neuroscience EURON), the annual Science Slam (2021-25; National Association of Young Scientists LuxDoc & Doctoral Education in Science Communication DESCOM), the My Thesis in 3 Minutes competition (2021; LuxDoc).

After completing her Master’s degree (2019), she worked as a neuropsychologist in the Dementia Prevention Programme (PDP) at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg until she started her PhD (2020-2024). She took up her current post in September 2024.

Laure holds a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Montpellier), a Master’s degree in Neuroscience (Bordeaux) / Clinical Neuroscience and Neuropsychology (Toulouse) and a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience (Luxembourg).
